MPEG 2. Practice putting your fingers on the correct strings and frets according to the chord images below. Be sure to not let your fingers touch the strings next to them. 3. Use your fingertips to press down on the strings and not the flat part of your fingers. Press in between the metal bars...on the wood part of the frets, not the metal bars themselves. 4. Practice plucking each string individually while fingering the chords. Also experiment strumming with your thumb up and down over the strings. 5. Practice moving your fingers from chord position to chord position. Do this repeatedly. Go slow and make sure you pluck and strum the strings for each chord position. Make sure each string sounds full and clear. 6. While repeating the names of the chords out loud, practice strumming and plucking these 3 chords in the following 4 patterns: II: C - F - G - C
:II II: C - F - G - F - C :II 7. Practice 20 minutes each day. Log this time into your
practice log. |
|||
Practice: | Watch the videos a few times. Use the correct fingerings as shown in the images below. Practice strumming up and down with your thumb or pic. Attempt to get clear, full sounds from each string. Make sure your fingers only touch the strings that they are supposed to. If your strings are "muffled sounding" then you are not pressing down hard enough or your fingers are touching the strings next to them. | |||
